Formula Female One Lap Challenge - Mondello Park

Formula Female One Lap Challenge

Mondello Park and BMW Ireland are delighted to announce the first ever Formula Female challenge, which will take place at the County Kildare Track on Tuesday April 16th as part of the 20×20 ‘If she can’t see it, she can’t be it’ campaign.

20X20 is an all-inclusive movement to shift Ireland’s cultural perception of women’s sport by 2020 with the aim of achieving a 20% increase in media coverage, participation and spectator attendance for women’s sports events.

What will the challenge be for our female sporting celebrities? To not let fear be in the driving seat, complete a lap in the fastest possible time and maybe even beat the bench mark set by Ireland’s top female racing driver, Nicole Drought.

Each celebrity will take to the wheel of a BMW Ireland ‘M2 Competition’ to complete their one lap challenge and as the moment of truth gets closer we are delighted to announce our very competitive list of sporting celebrities that will take part in the Formula Female One Lap Challenge.

Celebrities confirmed:
Analise Murphy (Olympic Sailing)⁣
Katie Walsh (Horse Racing)
Valerie Mulcahy (Cork GAA)⁣
Lindsay Peat (Irish Rugby)⁣
Lena Tice (Irish Hockey)⁣
Orla Walsh (Triathlon Ireland)⁣
Ashling Thompson (Cork Camogie)⁣
Aine O’Gorman (Irish Soccer)⁣

Gillian Pinder (Irish Hockey)⁣
⁣Ellen Keane (Paralympic Swimming)

It is fantastic to be able to bring together so many women in sport, from across so many disciplines, to support Mondello Park’s 20×20 #ShowYourStripes pledge.

Before the action gets underway on April 16th there will be a meet and greet with all of our participants at 12:00 in the BMW VIP Suite. Tickets for the event are free but you must RSVP in order to attend by clicking HERE. There will be Competitions and Activities on the day, and you might even find yourself in one of the BMW’s.

Formula Female is passionate about raising awareness of Motorsport and encouraging more females to get involved. By showcasing the fierce, brave and competitive nature of our ‘women in sport’ role models, we hope to change the perception that Motorsport is a Man’s world.

We look forward to bringing all the coverage from this event to you on Off The Ball’s Motorsport show in early May to reveal which celebrity made it to the top of the
leader-board.
