Rallysprint

A Rallysprint is an event held on private grounds for rally type cars only. Cars must start at intervals, as laid down in the approved Supplementary Regulations for the event, and both a driver and co-driver may be carried. The course must not be a closed circuit and must not exceed 8 kilometres in length.

Mondello Park Sports Club has taken the decision not to run the scheduled rounds of the Suirway Group Rallysprint Championship for the remainder of 2021.

Despite attracting strong entries in 2020, before being cancelled due to Covid restrictions, there were simply not enough entries in 2021 to make the Championship viable.

This is in complete contrast to the Motor Racing season, which under the new ICCR (Irish Championship Circuit Racing) guise, has had two successful race meetings, with strong support and big grids.

With demand for track time so high this season from various events, we’ve had to make decisions that maximise the track occupancy over the year.

We may run some stand-alone test events later in the season, keep an eye out on our website www.mondellopark.ie for more information.
