Vintage Cars & Bikes At The Carole Nash Historic Festival

See some timeless gems from the 1920s to the 1960s at Ireland’s best classic car show.

The Carole Nash Historic Festival is a must see event which brings together Ireland’s biggest annual assembly of Classic and Vintage race and road vehicles.

With Classic and Historic Racing and demonstrations on track, and a huge display of race cars, feature cars, cars from the Martin Birrane collection and individual owners and owners club exhibits in the paddock, there is something to excite fans of all eras from Motoring History.

The Mondello Park museum, which houses the Martin Birrane collection, is also open to view with its line-up of F1 cars, Indycars, Le Mans Sportscars and vehicles from many other branches of Motorsport.

The Martin Birrane Museum

The Mondello Park Museum of Motorsport which houses the Martin Birrane Collection will be open free of charge to show visitors throughout the Historic Festival weekend. A visit to the museum is a must for any motorsport enthuiasts as it akllows you to get up close to some of the most famous names in motorsport including machines from Lola, Porsche, Ford, Jaguar, Jordan and Bentton.

The impressive collection of cars is considered one of the hidden gems of Irish motor racing, as it contains a number of rare and historically important cars from the History of Irish and International Motorsport.

Among the cars in this collection are the LOLA T90 raced by Sir Jackie Stewart in the 1966 Indianapolis 500, the LOLA B94 raced to the Indycar Championship by F1 champion Nigel Mansell, Eddie Irvine’s Jordan 194 F1, an extremely rare Le Mans Ford C100 and two NASCAR Chevrolet Luminas from Ireland’s only NASCAR Team.

The collection represents the results of the late Martin Birrane’s lifetime involvement in Motorsport during which he collected this line-up of beautiful and historic racing cars many of which were a part of his motor racing career.

2023 Festival – A celebration of the Le Mans 100th anniversary

The 2023 Historic Festival was a monumental celebration marking the 100th anniversary of Le Mans, with a special spotlight on the remarkable Irish contenders of this legendary race. The illustrious Martin Birrane was a Le Mans 24 Hours veteran with ten thrilling appearances as a driver. Now, some of the very machines that roared under his command are proudly showcased in his exclusive collection.

These iconic cars didn’t just sit pretty; they roared back to life on the track for electrifying demonstration runs, thrilling spectators on both days. And that’s not all – the Le Mans tribute showcased a mesmerizing array of track demonstrations and a static display featuring additional iconic cars synonymous with the heart-pounding action of the world’s most prestigious endurance race. It was a spectacle like no other, a fitting homage to the enduring legacy of Le Mans!

2022 Festival – Ireland’s first International Grand Prix in almost 100 years

History was made at the 2022 Festival as Mondello Park played host to its first Grand Prix in a century, featuring the iconic Frazer-Nash class cars. The event was a dazzling display of speed, skill, and tradition, with these legendary vehicles tearing up the track and evoking a sense of nostalgia for a bygone era of racing greatness.

The Frazer-Nash class cars stole the show, each one a masterpiece of engineering and a symbol of motorsport heritage. The atmosphere crackled with excitement as these vintage marvels raced past, leaving spectators in awe with every turn.
