Tips For The Wet Weather At Outdoor Events

Like any outdoor venue, at Mondello Park we often suffer at the hands of the wet Irish weather. With this in mind, we’ve got some tips to help you stay dry in the event of bad weather.
The first thing to do is ensure you have the right clothes for the event. With a high chance of it raining, it might be best to bring waterproof and heavy-duty shoes & clothing for wet weather. It also helps to have a lighter poncho in case the weather isn’t as bad as we fear.
Also, it might be a good idea to carry an extra set of clothes and shoes in your car in case you do get wet. The below four pieces of clothing are the best protection in wet weather; we’d suggest bringing these along at the weekend:
Poncho:
A poncho is a great way to stay dry in the wettest places. Usually used in hiking trips to keep under layers warm and dry during rainy days, it can be great for rainy festivals to keep you dry and as comfortable as possible.

Water Proof Jacket:
The porous material on the fabric’s exterior allows for breathability, while protecting what is beneath. Many garments seem “waterproof”, but really just repel water instead of keeping it off of your skin. By using materials like Gore-tex and other similar qualities, they create a seal to keep water out without having as many downsides on comfort as plastic/vinyl (think plastic bin bags!).
